But I'm still waiting for the tone to become serious and the insurance hard sell to begin. but it sounded better than the "Santa Fe" so I said "sure!" She yells back to booth-guy "we'll take it!" And he says "Sold!" We're all laughing. and then says "How about the Jeep Grand Cherokee?" She looks at me and says "You want a Grand Cherokee?" We had no clue. She introduces herself, asks my name, checks her tablet and then says, "Standard SUV?" And I said "yep!" She then calls over to the guy running the key booth saying "what kind of a Standard SUV do you have for these guys?" The guy at the booth - who's clearly enjoying his job - starts running down his list out loud "Santa Fe". There, I'm immediately met by another friendly face holding a tablet computer. She then directed us out back to the garage to pick up our SUV. I said "no" to all of that ("I'll just bring it back full") and the young lady was still happy as can be about everything. All she did at the front desk was ask if I wanted a GPS, child seat, or their prepay fuel option. And the young woman working the desk seemed personable and friendly, but I was just waiting for that insurance hard-sell (where I decline the extra insurance and sign the damage waver) and things get a bit heated. Less than 10 minutes later it was our turn. There were 2 employees working there but one was deeply engaged with a customer the whole time. My wife and I were 4th in line at the Enterprise desk. Readers can decide if I was just lucky, or an Enterprise shill, or whether they really have a good group of people working there. Quite frankly, it was the best rental experience I can remember. Now, I've rented cars a couple dozen times - for both work and leisure - and could write a few bad stories from those experiences.īut my experience with Enterprise at the SLC Airport was actually so good that it's worth taking a little time to write about it. For our transportation, we reserved a Standard SUV (Hyundai Santa Fe) from Enterprise at their airport location. My wife and I just returned from a 1 week vacation to Salt Lake City.
